A Prayer for the Weary Heart: When You’re Tired and Need God to Carry You

Hello Sis, how you doing? You doing good? Not so good? I wish we could sit down together and talk through the questions I'm asking you, face-to-face. But a brief, reflective pause for us to search how we actually are in the middle of our busy days, I suppose that's also valuable. Perhaps, like me, you’re...exhausted.

However you are feeling in this brief, quiet, pause-of-a-moment, let me say a prayer over you. Actually, it's a prayer for both of us. That is what the Lord laid on my heart to write this week...a prayer.

Father God, we bless You. We praise You. Mighty are You and the works

of Your hands. Be exalted in our lives and in all the earth.

We confess that we are, by our very nature, sinful. We have fallen short of Your glory time and time again throughout the day--in our thoughts, in our words, and in our deeds. Father, we ask for Your forgiveness and for Your mercy. We plead the precious blood of

Jesus on our lives and the lives of our family and friends.

Who are we that you are so mindful of us? The ways You take care of us and protect us are

beyond us. For the battles You’ve waged and won on our behalf, both those we

can see and the many more that we can’t see, we are grateful.

Thank you, Father. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Holy Spirit.

Lord, You see us exactly as we are, and you still love us just the same. What amazing grace! In our weaknesses, You find us, hallowed be Your name.

We have come to cast our cares on You because You have promised to carry them for us.

We are tired and worn, please, give us Your strength.

We are uneasy and carried away by the fast pace of life, please Father, still our anxious hearts.

Some of us are unhappy with our current situations, and it makes it so hard to feel

your love. Father, please come through for us.

Father, others of us are sick and battling ill health. You are the Great Physician, please heal us.

Make us productive, Father. Provide for us where we lack.

Whatever challenges we are going through, carry us, Lord. Draw us closer to You. Help us to love You with all our hearts. Help us to trust You. Help us to obey You. Help us

to enjoy You. We pray that You satisfy us with Your goodness.

In Jesus’ most precious name we have prayed all these things, AMEN.

God's peace and joy to you, sister.

XOXO Gemma-Elizabeth
