Not Alone

Suffering will come—

Christ knows, He endured it too.

He walked that painful road of love,

poured out His blood for you.

Redeeming, though abandoned.

Forsaken—so we’d be found.

The cross was holy torture,

where grace and pain abound.

And here, within your valley,

Beneath the storm’s dark veil,

Your Shepherd whispers softly,

“I am with you in the gale.”

Defender. Protector. Emmanuel—

God with us through the night.

He leads His lambs through shadowlands

toward everlasting light.

Gently, He lies beside you,

In pastures green and deep.

You smile—your heart remembering

The dangers He did keep:

The wolves that couldn’t reach you,

The cliff that couldn’t claim,

The sea's billows stilled

At just the sound of His name.

You laugh beneath His watching eyes,

And peace flows wild and free.

You do remember—yes, you do—

His love's not mild towards me.

But yet, our hearts will wander,

As hearts so often do.

And once again, you’ll find His hand—

The Shepherd guiding you.
